In the middle of a pasture, located in the middle of nowhere, sits a discarded thrasher with a mystery for history. The machine’s vibrant colors camouflaged its location against the horizon, compelling me to photograph its existence. The title, The Machine, would result from mistaken identity.

Wikipedia defines a machine as a physical system using power to apply forces and control movement to perform an action. The definition was ironic as it was a fitting title and fitting for how the power of suggestion caused me to change the title.

Everyday power forces and controls the movement of machines and man with one defining difference – man is driven by motive and machines are driven by man.
