Dear Younger Me,

I acknowledge and witness your pain when I see your eyes in the mirror. And when I weep, I feel empathy in your heart. I have accepted your apology a thousand times and expect to have a thousand more.

I know your doubt of my forgiveness comes like a rushing river on rainy nights, in the darkness, and when you are alone. With open arms, I stand ready for these occasions to gently wrap you up and repeat as often as possible, "You are safe."

Without faith, I could not write you a letter such as this. I forgive you.
