One Regret, March 22, 2023

My time here has slowed me down, which is good. I have learned to pause, look up and watch the sunrise. I am in awe of the colors it casts across the horizon. I kneel along my path and feel the earth between my fingers. I love the wind and crisp air on my face. Before I arrived, I can't remember the last time I shut out the world and walked alongside God, but I have a standing appointment here. Many would fear the quiet, but I relish it—no voices whispering in my ears. I am permitted to contemplate without interruption. I find inspiration and see God's handiwork up close and personal. I am better for having walked this land; my only regret is not finding it sooner.
